Welcome Fellow Animal Lovers!

From humble beginnings, the High Plains Humane Society (HPHS) has had great growth since our start in 2010. Our mission is to promote sterilization to combat overpopulation. In turn, this will reduce euthanasia of animals in our community. HPHS volunteers and board love animals, and want to see them as happy and healthy as possible. We work with organizations who share our vision, to provide great care to area animals. This is through veterinary care, vaccine events and affordable spay/neuter accessibility. We also promote shelter animal adoptions over buying from a breeder. We believe in adopting, not shopping!

HPHS works with local and state government to make positive changes for our animals! We also make it our mission to educate the public on the importance of being responsible pet owners. High Plains Humane Society continually strives to make this world a better place for our furry friends!

Sterilization Clinics for Local Animals

Our low-income spay and neuter clinics have been successful in assisting pet owners. We’ve been able to provide affordable sterilization for people who would otherwise not be able to afford this service. These clinics are essential in addressing overpopulation and euthanasia statistics. Over the past 2 decades, we’ve successful spayed and neutered thousands of animals, reducing the pet population by hundreds of thousands.

Local Animal Vaccination Events

Vaccinating pets can be a large expense for pet owners, as well. HPHS has several low-cost vaccination events throughout the year to assist pet owners. These events provide essential vaccines that keep deadly disease from running rampant. Diseases like parvo, distemper and rabies spread easily. Prevention via vaccines is necessary to combat this. But, with the economic climate, many pet owners cannot afford this service. We have veterinary volunteers that help us in providing these vaccines at a cost many can afford. HPHS also offers microchipping at a reduced rate at our vaccination events!
